Erasmus+ Study Third Application

OIP will soon accept third round of applications for Erasmus+ Study program for Spring 2020 semester. Please read the content provided below carefully.


Application Dates:

Third round of applications for Erasmus+ Study Program will be open between 15/07/2019-29/07/2019. Please note that the selection will only be done for Spring 2020 semester.

Please take this list into consideration when selecting your preferences and checking remaining quotas. Do not select a university that is not on this list. Even if the KUAPP system will allow you to select a university that is not on this list, your selection will be invalid.

Students are advised to check KU’s Institutional Partner List before the application period. Please be careful about the following:

  • Make sure to select the program type as Erasmus+
  • Read the details on partner institutions’ web pages such as Departments/Colleges included, Fact Sheet, Course List, Language and GPA requirements, etc.
  • Once you have a list of possible destinations, please visit OIP for specific questions on partner universities.


Application Requirements:

  • Minimum required CGPA 2.20 for undergraduate, 2.50 for graduate and postgraduate students.
  • Language Requirement: Koç University Institutional TOEF (550 PBT), TOEFL (550 PBT/ 80 IBT) or IELTS Score Card (min. 6.5) (valid for 2 years after the test date)


Application Documents:

  • Transcript of Records
  • TOEFL Score
  • Photo
  • Special Needs Statement & Proving documents (if applicable)
  • Substitutive documents for children of martyr and veteran people (if applicable)
  • Substitutive documents for students who are covered by the 2828 numbered Social Services Law (if applicable)


The students who will receive their language score after the deadline can still hand in their language score cards to our office (manually or via e-mail) until 02/08/2019, 3pm, after completing their applications on 

The students who will hand in their language score cards until the indicated deadline will still have to complete their applications by 29/07/2019. If you will hand in your language score card after the application deadline, you may upload an empty document on kuapp system instead of your language score document to be able to complete your application.

Placement Criteria:

  • 50% of your CGPA and 50% of Language Score
  • Previous participation in any Erasmus+ program in the same study cycle: -10 points
  • Disabled students receive +10 points if proving documents are provided in the application.
  • Children of martyr and veteran people receive +15 points if proving documents are provided in the application.
  • Students who are covered by the 2828 numbered Social Services Law receive +10 points if proving documents are provided in the application.
  • Students who want to participate in mobility programs in their birth country receive -10 points.
  • Not attending the required orientation/pre-departure orientations organized by OIP in previous Erasmus+ mobility exchange experience will result in deduction of 5 points.

  • Upload the scanned copies of application documents to Kuapp.


Erasmus+ Grant:

Erasmus+ Study program provides monthly stipend to students based on the table below. Koç University holds the right to determine the maximum duration for grant payment.

Additional Grant for Participants with Special Needs:

The allowances are offered when disabilities or health conditions lead to additional mobility costs, which exceed the maximum grant allocations allowed and which cannot be recovered from other sources. The grant covers approved actual costs. Participant should contact OIP for additional grant application.


Zero Grant Participation:

Students are able to participate in Erasmus+ Study program without receiving a grant. However, it should be noted that the student has to go through the same application & selection procedures and submit the required documents (before-during-after mobility) to OIP.

Additional Grant Opportunity for Students with Financial Needs:

Economically disadvantaged students who are selected for the Study Mobility will be paid an extra grant of 100 € per month from the study mobility budget, in addition to the amount of monthly grant specified in the grant table.

Students whose parents or themselves are receiving an allowance within the scope of the Article 2 of the Law on Encouragement of Social Assistance and Solidarity No. 3294 dated 29.05.1989 (29.05.1989 tarih ve 3294 sayılı Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışmayı Teşvik Kanunu) can benefit from the opportunity of additional grant for economically disadvantaged people.

In order to benefit from the additional grant, the selected student must apply to the Office of International Programs (OIP) to submit the document indicating that he/she receives an allowance within the scope of the above-mentioned Law from the Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor, and Social Services (Aile, Çalışma ve Sosyal Hizmetler İl Müdürlüğü). Information regarding the way and the period in which the document is to be submitted to OIP will be announced to the students in the program announcements and/or via e-mails by OIP.
