**Abstract : ** Quantum Adiabatic Algorithm (QAA) is a leading candidate to solve difficult optimization problems. During the course of the computation, the ground state of an initial Hamiltonian is driven slowly to be able to find the ground state of a problem Hamiltonian. A faster algorithm is desirable due to the downsides of slowness such as decoherence and noise. However, a huge obstacle to a faster algorithm is the exponentially small gaps in the spectrum. We show that the small gaps due to avoided crossings created by single-particles can be eliminated by adding a steering term to the standard QAA Hamiltonian. I will first explain the techniques to drive general systems without transitions. Then, I will talk about the details of the steered QAA to find the ground states of systems with random field in a faster way.

**Short Bio : ** A. Barış Özgüler received his undergraduate degrees in physics and mathematics from Koç University. He is currently a PhD candidate in physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include adiabatic quantum computing, many-body localization and topological matter.
