MiReKoc Seminar Series continues with Metin Çorabatır’s presentation entitled ‘Establishing a New Asylum System in Turkey: Opportunities and Challenges’.The seminar will take place on Wednesday, March 25 at 12:00 in College of Social Sciences and Humanities SOS 143 Meeting Room. It will be organized as a 'brown bag seminar' during the lunch break and will include 30 minutes presentation and one hour Q&A.

Metin Çorabatır

After 18 years of service as the spokesperson of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Çorabatır is currently the president of the Research Center on Asylum and Migration (IGAM), an Ankara based think-tank. He is a PhD candidate at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul and writing a dissertation where he analysis the roles of international organizations in national legislation processes. He also teaches migration at Okan University, Istanbul. He is the co-author of very timely and important reports such as; “Ensuring Quality Education for Syrian Refugee Young People” and “the Role of Civil Society in the Syrian Humanitrarian Crisis”.
