In this seminar, we will discuss various aspects of data privacy and security. We will start by showing examples of why we need privacy and what can go wrong if privacy measures are inadequate. Then, we will briefly introduce some privacy protection methods such as data anonymization and differential privacy. Finally, we will discuss the privacy/security risks of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), and how we can develop robust and privacy-preserving AI/ML algorithms.
