Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program applications

ANNOUNCEMENT: ERASMUS+ WORLDWIDE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

Office of International Programs is delighted to present a traineeship mobility experience via Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship Program! Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship enables you to spend an internship period of 2-to-12 months in an enterprise or organization in one of the program countries beyond Europe.

Applications for Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program will be open between 10/05/2021-31/05/2021. For more information on scheduling, please check OIP’s Application and Selection Calendar

Where to Intern?

Students can intern at companies, education institutions/centers, research centers/facilities or any type of organization that is classified as “business enterprise” by the Erasmus+ Program Guide. Students can find more information on where to intern on our website.

·       As part of Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program, students can intern in the following countries:

o   Egypt (Cairo)

o   South Africa

o   Lebanon

·       As part of Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program, students can intern at the administrative offices of the following partner Universities:

o   American University of Cairo (Egypt)

o   University of Cape Town

o   University of Pretoria

o   Stellenbosch University

o   American University of Beirut

Internship Quota

Erasmus+ Worldwide program offers the following countries as internship destinations, and quotas are pre-set for countries listed in the table.

Students can plan their internships starting as of 10th of June, 2021.

Internships must be finalized until July 2022.

Application Documents

Acceptance Letter* A 2-month-period acceptance from the host organization: Students are required find their internship and receive an acceptance letter from the host organization in one of the partner countries.

 

Most recent transcript* Registrar’s Office can issue your transcript online and send it to you via e-mail. Please request your transcript on KUSIS and ask the Registrar’s Office to send you your transcript online. Please upload ALL PAGES of your transcript as one single PDF file. Only

one document can be uploaded to the transcript field, please make sure you upload your complete transcript to your application. Students can use online tools to merge single documents into one document, if it is needed.)

 

A valid English Language Proficiency Certificate*

·Koç TOEFL (TOEFL PBT): minimum 550 - You may request the document from the Registrar’s

Office. An official document must be uploaded, a screenshot for Koç TOEFL will not be accepted. 

·TOEFL IBT: minimum 80

·IELTS: minimum 6.5

·KUEPE: minimum 60 - Students who wish to apply using their KUEPE scores will need to

take a screenshot of their KUSIS homepage, where KUEPE scores are shown. If students have any technical issues with screening their KUEPE results on their KUSIS homepage, they must contact the IT department to solve the issue.Students can also contact the Registrar’s Office and English Language Center to get their KUEPE results as well.

·Substitutive documents for children of martyr and veteran people (if applicable)

·Substitutive documents for students who are covered by the 2828 numbered Social Services Law

Placement Criteria

·Selection is done based on 50% Academic achievement + 50% Language score.

·Previous participation in any Erasmus+ program in the same study cycle: -10 points

·Disabled students receive + 10 points if proving documents are provided in the application.

·Children of martyr and veteran people receive +15 points if proving documents are provided in the application

·Students who are covered by the 2828 numbered Social Services Law receive + 10 points if proving documents are provided in the application.

·Students who want to participate in mobility programs in their birth country receive -10 points

Erasmus+ Worldwide Grant

Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program provides monthly stipend as well as travel grant to selected participants. Koç University student going to a partner country receives 700€ per month.

Selected participants also receives travel grant. The calculation is done based on the distance between Koç University and the host city. Calculation is done by Distance Calculator (https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/resources/distance-calculator_en

Quotas for Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship grant will be distributed equally to all colleges. Applicants with highest ranking from each college according to placement criteria will be selected for the related partner universities. If there is no application form a certain college/institute, grant quota will be allocated among the applicants from participating colleges/institutes based on their placement scores.

Additional Grant for Participants with Special Needs

The allowances are offered when disabilities or health conditions lead to additional mobility costs, which exceed the maximum grant allocations allowed and which cannot be recovered from other sources. The grant covers approved actual costs. Participant should contact OIP for additional grant application.

Zero Grant Participation

Students are able to participate in Erasmus+ Worldwide Internship program without receiving a grant. However, it should be noted that the student have to go through the same application & selection procedures and submit the required documents (before-during-after mobility) to OIP.
