LAST CALL---Harvard CMES - KU Visiting Scholar Program for Summer 2010


Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to create and determine interest among the faculty for participating in the Harvard-Koç University Visiting Scholar Program for the Summer of 2010.

The general features of the program are as follows.

Objectives:  To support collaboration among Koç and Harvard University faculty; to provide faculty with access to Harvard University’s library and other facilities and an opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars in the area.

Who qualifies: Koç University Faculty with research appointments.

Time frame: 8 to 12 week stays, between the dates of July1 - Sept 15.

Number of Scholarships: 2 - 4 depending on length of stay requested.


Koç University will provide

● a round-trip economy-class ticket to Boston
● a stipend of $3000 for 8 weeks or $4500 for 12 weeks

Scholars may request a carrel through widener library  if they wish.
You may also stay in another department if you can make the arrangements yourselves.

Faculty responsibilities: Make arrangements with colleagues at Harvard for collaboration. Faculty are also responsible for securing housing and for all their expenses.

How to apply: Please send  a brief proposal describing your project at Harvard as an e-mail attachment. Indicate specifically how being there will make a difference for your research. Please give a copy of your proposal to your Dean as well.
